And we're live!

Updated: Dec 16, 2018

It’s been a busy time for us these past 4 weeks. We've had our approval back from HMRC so can now trade with on/off trade, which means we can get our gin on the shelves in the bottle shops and bars that we have been speaking with.

We have just done a mini distillation in the 10 litre still to produce a batch of samples to give out to bloggers and influencers. We made up 200 sample kits that we’re sending out that will include a 5CL sample bottle, a small can of Fever Tree Tonic, some mini packs of Haribo sweets, a tasting notes/perfect serve card and a hand-written note to the recipient. We spent the first 2 weeks of October sending out between 20 and 30 boxes each day with the hope of generating a bit of hype on social media, which so far, we’ve managed to do. We planned it so that every day someone would be receiving a sample kit, and if they posted about it on social media it would be a daily boost for us. It must be working as we’ve had comments from people saying their entire social media feed is full of our mini sample bottles!

We were way ahead of schedule with launching, our bottles had arrived, our labels arrived, our licences arrived and we had distilled & bottled the first batch. The natural step for us then was to actually launch the gin, which we did 4 days ago! We distilled the first batch and put it into the tank to settle before bottling. We bottled and labelled last week and from our first batch we had 292 bottles which we are really happy with.

We launched on the 12th October and on the 13th October we held our first public tasting event at The Grewar’s Farm Shop in Dronley. The farm shop is our first stockist and started selling our gin on launch day! The tasting event was great fun and it was great to make new gin pals!

In between distilling & bottling batch 1, making up & sending out 200 sample kits, launching and doing tasting events we even managed to find some time to keep our social media channels updated! We like to set some time aside each week to dedicate to social media & blog writing and use the time to grab a coffee & a donut in some of the fantastic coffee shops in Dundee. Our go to coffee shop is The Daily Grind in Hard Grind on Exchange Street in Dundee, not only is it a great place to relax in, but the staff are fantastic and its always a good atmosphere in there. The freshly ground coffee from Sacred Grounds Coffee Company and fresh donuts from Clarks Bakery also help to entice us in!

Keep an eye out for future tasting events and festivals that we are attending and come and say hi!
