November Newsletter

Welcome to the November newsletter from Mackintosh Gin! October was a very exciting month for us and also a month of celebration!

We attended The Scottish Gin Awards in Glasgow where we were finalists in two categories, Best marketing campaign and London Dry Gin of the Year. We were absolutely delighted to have won silver in the London Dry Gin of the Year! This is an outstanding achievement for us, especially when there were some fantastic gins in the running. There were over 60 entries which was shortlisted to 45 finalists, so to win the silver really is an honour for us. The awards dinner was a fantastic evening and an event that allows the industry to come together. We were able to catch up with lots of our ginpals from other brands, retailers, suppliers, bloggers, influencers and brand ambassadors. It's quite a sight to see a huge conga snake through the room with at least 100 people representing just as many gin brands!

We celebrated our first birthday in October, we've no idea where the year went but before we knew it we were turning one year old! It has been a fantastic year for us, we carried out lots of tasting events throughout the year, exhibited at some of our favourite Gin Festivals, exhibited at some big shows such as The Gin To My Tonic Show and Junipalooza, we’ve won a couple of awards, secured listings in some of our favourite bars & bottle shops and most importantly we’ve made lots of ginpals along the way!

Our next year looks very promising, we’re shortly going to be releasing our Navy Strength Gin & our Old Tom Gin which both taste amazing and make excellent cocktail gins, we’re in talks to secure listings in North America and we’ll continue to grow our listings at home too.

To celebrate our first year, and to help us grow, we’ve taken on our first brand ambassador which we’re really excited about. When one of our favourite bartenders from one of our favourite bars agreed to join us we knew we were on to a winner! Dale, the assistant manager at the amazing Bird & Bear in Dundee has joined us and we’re thrilled to have him on our team! Dale is a fantastic bartender/mixologist and is well known throughout the bar scene in Scotland, we'll be bringing him to some of the shows we're attending in 2020 as he will really enhance the team!

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us this past year, it really does mean a lot and without you we wouldn’t be here. November will be a quieter month for us, we'll be preparing for the Christmas rush, planning our events for next year and we have a tasting event at Aitken Wines in Dundee on the 23rd November which Deborah and Alex will be doing.
