There are so many ways to make a Martini, wet, dry, dirty the list goes on, and we say there is no right way, only your way. We all enjoy our Martini differently, just like we enjoy our gin and tonic differently (as discussed in a post back in August 2018) and we encourage you to enjoy your Martini the way you want to.
It's the one thing we agree on at home though, and that's how we like our Martini, and fortunately, we like it the same way. A Martini is served up (no ice in the glass but the glass or drink is chilled first) and when we're making them at home we clear out a drawer in the freezer that will fit two Martini glasses (we use four glasses and rotate two at a time through the freezer!) to ensure we always have a cold glass. We use a 50/50 or 1/1 split meaning we use the same amount of Gin as we do Vermouth.
If you make a Martini with our gin, or another cocktail even, tag us in your photos on your social media posts so we can have a look!
60ml Mackintosh Gin
1 dash of orange bitters (optional)
Lemon slice or twist to garnish
Chill a Martini glass in the freezer
Pour the gin, vermouth and orange bitters if using into a mixing glass
Top up with ice and stir well
Strain into the chilled Martini glass
Garnish with a lemon twist or slice if preferred
We will continue to share more cocktails with you over the next few months and look forward to sharing our holiday favourite/Deborah’s favourite ever cocktail with you! Our other cocktails are:
With cocktails it is easy to forget that they are quite strong, and often very moreish. As always we encourage you to enjoy Mackintosh Gin responsibly.
