We love the Mackintosh 75, but one of our daughters (who shall remain nameless!) doesn't like prosecco or champagne, so enjoys a Bramble instead!
The Bramble is an easy to make cocktail and a lot of fun in the making. It requires a significant amount of crushed ice which you can do at home by placing some ice cubes in a tea towel and bash with a rolling pin, however this method is quite messy! What we now do is place the ice in a canvas Lewis bag and bash with a wooden ice mallet, it really crushes the ice up without sending it flying all over the kitchen! For this cocktail most of the ingredients are easily sourced, but the Crème De Mure might be difficult to get locally depending on where you are but there are a few variations available online. Any blackberry liqueur will suffice for this recipe.
If you make a Bramble with our gin, or another cocktail even, tag us in your photos on your social media posts so we can have a look!
60ml Mackintosh Gin
30ml Lemon Juice
15ml Sugar Syrup
15ml Creme De Mure
Lemon slice and some blackberries to garnish
Fill an old fashioned glass with crushed ice.
Pour over the gin, lemon juice & sugar syrup and gently stir together.
Top the glass up with more ice if room permits.
Drizzle the Creme De Mure over the ice and let it run through to the bottom of the glass.
Gently stir together then garnish with a slice of lemon and a couple of blackberries.
With cocktails it is easy to forget that they are quite strong, and often very moreish. We encourage you to enjoy Mackintosh Gin responsibly.
We will share more cocktails with you over the next few months and look forward to sharing our holiday favourite/Deborah’s favourite ever cocktail with you!
As always we encourage you to enjoy Mackintosh Gin responsibly.
