February Newsletter

1st February 2019

We took advantage of the quiet spell and made a start on our events planning for the first few months of the year, the diary is already starting to fill up with tasting events! If there is anywhere you would like to see us please get in touch!

Batch 2 has been distilled, bottled, labelled and sent out already. This batch has an exciting future to it, more of which will be revealed in the next couple of weeks! We have kept a small amount back for internet sales but other than that the entire batch has gone already, so we are going to distill batch 3 in less than two weeks time and bottle it at the end of month, ready to ship early March.

It's the start of the gin festival and tasting events season and we're excited to be exhibiting or represented at lots of these events. The first one in our calendar is tomorrow at The Gin North East Festival in Inverurie. We are really excited about this one as we're exhibiting with some fantastic producers, and it will be our first time meeting with our gin pals in the North East! We're also teaming up with the guys from Crafty Connoisuer who will be exhibiting our gin for us at some of the events that we can't attend, the first one being The Gin To My Tonic Show at the SEC in Glasgow in March, which is going to be huge!

we have had some more stunning photos sent to us last month from both The Gin Cooperative and from Lorraine Paterson Photography, the images really are outstanding. The Gin Cooperative produce some brilliant features and work closely with lots of the Scottish Gin producers. Lorraine, we think, is going to be working with some other producers and making some fantastic images for them too, look out for more of her amazing work in the coming months!

We have posted a cocktail on the past couple of newsletters, so we thought we would carry on this theme! Last month we were enjoying Martinis at home, this was to show our support for the gin producers going up for the title of Worlds Best Martini in the final that was hosted in London on the 15th January, which Campfire Gin won.

Our Martini tastes amazing and is so easy to make. There are so many variations of this wonderful drink that there is no real wrong or right way to drink it, however this is the method we went for:

Ingredients:

60ml Mackintosh Gin 20ml Dry Vermouth
Lemon twist to garnish
Method: Fill a mixing glass with ice.
pour in the Mackintosh Gin and the Dry Vermouth.
Stir for 30 seconds.
Strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Enjoy!

Congratulations to all those who took part in Dry January, we have heard some people say it was a long month for them! Time to enjoy that long awaited Gin and Cocktail!

Keep an eye on our social media channels for further updates, cocktails and where & when we will be offering some tastings of our gin!

Please enjoy Mackintosh Gin responsibly.
